Kolumbien ist ein Land im nördlichen Teil Südamerikas, die Hauptstadt ist Bogotá. Das Land grenzt sowohl an den Pazifischen Ozean als auch an die Karibik. Die Gesamtfläche beträgt 1 138 910 km², die Einwohnerzahl liegt bei ca. 49 Mio. Projekte gibt es landesweit. Unsere ICYE-Partnerorganisation ist ICYE Colombia mit Sitz in Bogotá und besteht seit 1981.

Experience Kolumbien – Umwelt: Fundación Zoocriaderado de Mariposas Andoke
Andoke is located just 15 minutes from the city of Cali, in its natural setting has a large butterfly farm, a thematic map of Colombia of 2,000 m2, trails for bird watching, zoo laboratory, bees, orchards and compost.
Andoke is a biospace recognized as a Science Center by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. In our natural setting we design and implement environmental education programs, conservation of natural and cultural heritage, and nature tourism.
Location: Corrigimiento Los Andes, Cali, Valle de Cauca
Volunteers tasks:
- Project formulation (different activities for kids)
- Marketing, and human resources (directed mostly at people who visit the project and are curious about it)
Volunteer requirements/Skills: Young people passionate about environmental issues and care for nature, who like to work with the community, especially with children as well as those who are focused on issues of agroecology, and / or on issues of social media management, digital strategies: biologists, environmentalists, artists, graduates, digital marketing interested
Volunteer’s working time: Mostly from Monday to Friday. Working hours are between 20 and 40 hours a week.
Host situation (board and lodging): Host family located in the project
Discover Kolumbien – Community und Kunst: Casa Mucura
Casa Mucura is a foundation created to support and accompany the local community of Nuquí (Colombian pacific coast) in the strengthening of capacities that lead to the self-management of their own projects. They co-create with a responsible community approach that starts from a close understanding of the territory and works through participatory methodologies and permaculture principles that include the vision of the community and lead to social, environmental, and economic sustainability.
Location: Coquí, a part of the tourist municipality of Nuquí
Volunteer tasks:
- Exchange of knowledge between the volunteer and the community
- Accompany the different experiences the foundation do with tourist and people from the community
- Support the workshops they do (Medicinal Plants, Handicrafts, Agriculture and Gastronomy, Musical Expression and Artisanal Fishing)
- Support the activities with children and women
Volunteer requirements/Skills: There are no specifications on the volunteer’s profile. The important thing is that the volunteer has a good attitude, has disposition, and is proactive. It is vital for the volunteer to be open-minded and to be very respectful of other cultures and ancestral knowledge.
Volunteer’s working time: Mostly from Monday to Friday. Working hours are between 20 and 40 hours a week.
