Die Philippinen sind ein Staat und eine Inselgruppe, die aus ca. 7.000 Inseln besteht. Die Hauptstadt ist Manila. Die Einwohnerzahl beträgt ca. 106 Mio. (34 % davon sind unter 15 Jahren), wovon 12 Mio. in Manila leben. Sprachen sind vor allem Filipino (83 %), Cebuano (24 %) und Englisch. Global Initiative for Exchange and Development Inc. (GIED) ist eine NGO, die interkulturelle Austausch von jungen Menschen fördert. Ihr Sitz befindet sich in Cebu. Die Einsatzgebiete sind in Cebu und Negros Oriental.

Discover Philippinen – Bildung für Kinder/Jugendliche: Saceda Youth Lead
Leadership building through education and action! Saceda Youth Lead is a NGO on youth empowerment and development recognized by the Department of Education, and the Commission on Higher Education. It has empowered more than 200,000 youths and teachers in all its programs and activities in the Philippines and the ASEAN region. Main activities are intensive leadership camps and school-based trainings. The volunteer’s tasks are: assist in the different leadership and socio-civic activities, assist trainers/facilitators in leadership and youth camp activities, teach English or foreign language subjects, assist development of arts, music and sports programs and assist in office or administrative tasks.
Volunteer requirements/Skills: The volunteer should be committed, dedicated, competent, creative, respectful and sincere, flexible, open-minded and able to adopt the local situation.
Location: Purok Gumamela, Brgy. Candau-ay, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
Volunteer’s working time: Mostly from Monday to Friday. Working hours are between 20 and 40 hours a week.
Host situation (board and lodging): The Host Project (expect to have a shared room with other foreign volunteers or staff) and/or host family (expect to have a shared room with siblings or another member of the family).
Discover Philippinen – Gesundheit: Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center
Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II is a non-residential facility established as vocational rehabilitation centers to serve persons with disabilities (PWDs). It caters to those who have impairements in their vision, hearing, speech, mobility and those with other forms of physical, mental and social impairment, aged 18-59 years old, willing to acquire vocational skills and get employed, coming from three Philippine Visayas regions (Regions 6, 7 and 8).
Volunteer requirements/Skills: sociable and can easily mingle with Official, staff, volunteers without prejudice, etc. Commitment in working PWD. Have patience and heart of helping person with disability. Independent and requires less supervision. Innovative, industrious, adventurous. Preferably skilled or knowledgeable
Volunteer Tasks: Assist the trainer and staff of the Vocational Training Courses: Commercial Arts and Craft, massage therapy, Dress and Apparel Technology – Commercial Cooking -Consumer Electronics -Housekeeping, Furniture and Cabinet Making -Computer Technology, Basic Cosmetology. Share and facilitate workshops. Assist in health training program. Assist in assessing the clients capabilities, interest and skills
Location: Camomot-Franza Road, Labangon, Cebu City.
