ESC – Humanitarian Aid Volunteering

Who can apply:
Citizens aged 18-35 from one of the 27 EU member countries or citizens legally residing in one of the countries associated with the programme (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia) who have completed both the online training “Humanitarian aid training” on EU Academy and the 5 days training in presence.
We are looking for a motivated volunteer who is interested in work of the hosting organisation and who is willing to adapt to the new culture, new food and environment, and to follow the safety guidelines that they will receive. A good knowledge of English is recommended.
Hosting organisation and volunteering activities:
Your host organisation will be the Jordan Health Aid Society international (JHAS-i) located in Amman.
This volunteering gives the opportunity to youth 18-35 years old to spend 3 months supporting the local NGO JHASi Jordan, whose mission is to provide quality health care services for disadvantaged people in Jordan, in both urban and camps settings, and to build advocacy toward disease prevention and healthy living.
Volunteers will work 30-38 hours per week and will carry out the following activities:
- Office work in JHASi headquarters in Amman (search for tenders, data collection, collaboration in writing projects, administrative support, search for partnerships and collaborations);
- Animation and entertainment for children in the Zaatari refugee camp;
- Logistical support in the Zaatari refugee camp;
- Participation in a training course on safety and rescue at the Zaatari Medical Training and Consultancy Center.
How to apply:
Volunteers interested in joining the program must:
1) Be registered on the portal of the European Solidarity Corps.
2) Have completed the “Humanitarian Aid Training”
3) Send your CV and motivation letter to praktikum@grenzenlos.or.at before 24.03.2024 indicating your ESC personal reference number (PRN)
